In a world of unrest and division, the mission of her music is to help listeners get in touch with their emotions, claim their dignity and worthiness, and learn to trust their inner voice to guide their lives.

About the Artist:
Mary Jane Knight is new to the recording world, having spent the last 25 years performing in operas and musical theatre throughout the Midwest, appearing as a classical soloist, teaching voice privately and at the collegiate level, conducting choirs, and playing the piano and organ. She has lived in Iowa City for almost seven years and now teaches exclusively in her studio Knightingale Voice, which is located in the Emma J. Harvat and Mary E. Stach House built by the first female mayor of Iowa City Emma Harvat. In 1922, Emma Harvat became the first female mayor of a town of more than 10,000 in the United States and made news around the world. Emma’s presence and legacy have been an inspiration to Mary Jane in her endeavors, along with all of the strong women in her past and present that support and inspire her every day.
